Caswell Presbyterian Church

Mission funds for Caswell come primarily from the annual church budget. Over the last few years, Caswell Presbyterian helped the following organizations with financial support:

  • Disciple Heart Prison Ministry
  • Presbyterian Counseling Center in Wilmington
  • Friends of Camp Kirkwood
  • Pender County Ministerial Association
  • Pender County Christian Services, Inc. in Burgaw
  • Atkinson Volunteer Fire Department
  • Phoenix Employment Ministries
  • American Bible Society
  • Gideons

Also included was support for PCUSA Missionaries Rev. Dr. David Hudson and Rev. Susan Hudson who served as regional liasons for South Asia. They were based in New Delhi, India and traveled as needed to Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. Their primary focus was on church partnerships, mission initiatives that originate from partner churches, and education.

Special Offerings are collected during the course of the year:

  • Monthly 2-cents-a-meal Hunger Offering helps with Presbytery hunger relief grants
  • Ongoing Samaritan Fund - used to help meet emergency needs
  • Christmas Family in November/December
  • Christmas Joy Offering - collected the Sunday prior to Christmas
  • One Great Hour of Sharing - collected Easter Sunday

In our local area, Caswell

  • has sponsored baking and collecting cookies for Kairos Prison Ministry
  • collects food staples for Pender County Christian Services' food pantry in Burgaw
  • collects shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child (Samaritan's Purse) which are sent out around the world
  • has helped send our church children to Presbytery Camps
  • invites local youth to join in special activities at the church

The responsibility of the Mission and Evangelism Committee is to reach-out to the community with the Gospel of Christ through developing and implementing outreach programs that serve the community and beyond.

Visitors are welcome and are encouraged to participate in the work and worship of this part of the Body of Christ. If you are looking for a church home, you are encouraged to talk with the pastor or a member of the church. All that is required is a belief in Jesus as Savior and Lord.
